Birth flower for December 27
Pink ball tree
Meaning: gentle blessing
The pink ball tree flowers in winter, packing dozens of small pink blooms into a ball that dangles on a long stalk, often half hidden under its big heart-shaped leaves. The flowers smell sweet and draw plenty of bees. It is a relative of the mallows, and the spent flowers dry in place and cling to the ball for a long time.
