Birth flower for September 14
Sulphur cosmos
Meaning: Wild beauty
Sulphur cosmos is a close cousin of the pink garden cosmos, but it loves heat and starts blooming in midsummer. It reseeds so freely that it has gone wild along roadsides and empty lots in lowland Taiwan. Its petals give a yellow to orange dye that has long been used to color cloth in its native range.
