Trumpet vine
Meaning: fame
Its Chinese name lingxiao means "soaring to the clouds," for the way it climbs trees toward the sky. The poet Shu Ting famously wrote in "To the Oak" that she would never be like a trumpet vine, climbing a tall branch to show herself off, making it a symbol of leaning on others. In Japan it is a classic summer flower on old temple and garden walls.
