Birth flower for July 13
Marigold
Meaning: Warmth, friendship
In Mexico the marigold is cempasúchil, the star of the Day of the Dead: families lay paths of orange petals and heap them on altars, believing the bright color and scent guide spirits home. In India, marigolds are strung into garlands for temples and weddings. Crush a leaf and you'll notice its sharp, pungent smell.
