Birth flower for June 27
Jackman clematis
Meaning: mental beauty
Jackmanii was raised in 1858 at the Jackman nursery in Woking, Surrey, and caused a sensation when it was introduced in 1862. It is still one of the most widely grown clematis in the world. Its four velvety, deep violet sepals keep coming from early summer into autumn, and it is a classic choice for covering walls, fences and arches.
