Pomegranate flower
Meaning: Mature elegance
The pomegranate is said to have reached China along the Silk Road in the Han dynasty, so it was once called the Anshi pomegranate after Parthia. The Tang poet Han Yu wrote that in the fifth month the pomegranate flowers dazzle the eyes. Its many-seeded fruit became a symbol of a big family, and a red skirt in Chinese is still called a pomegranate skirt.
