Birth flower for March 3
Peach blossom
Meaning: Good fortune
In Chinese culture the peach blossom stands for spring, romance and good fortune: Tao Yuanming's tale of the Peach Blossom Spring describes a hidden paradise beyond a grove of flowering peaches, and "peach blossom luck" means luck in love. In Japan, the Girls' Day festival on March 3 is called Momo no Sekku, the Peach Festival, and the folk hero Momotaro was born from a giant peach, since peaches were believed to ward off evil.
