Multiflora hyacinth
Meaning: constancy
An ordinary hyacinth bulb sends up one fat, packed spike. Multiflora hyacinths are bulbs treated by growers so that each one sends up several slender stems instead, each hung with loosely spaced bells, much closer to the wild species in looks. Ordinary hyacinths often turn out this way on their own in their second year in the garden.
