Birth flower for December 13
Frilled pansy
Meaning: think of me
The word pansy comes from the French pensee, meaning thought, because the flower looks like a little face bowed in thought. Frilled pansies have petals with tightly ruffled, wavy edges, so each bloom looks like the hem of a party dress. They are fancier than ordinary pansies but just as tough in cold weather.
