Birth flower for November 28
Campfire crassula
Meaning: good luck
Campfire's paddle leaves are green in summer, but when autumn and winter bring cool nights and bright sun, they blush from the tips into fiery red until the whole clump looks like a campfire, hence the name; in Japan it is called hi-matsuri, fire festival. The more sun and the bigger the day-night swing, the redder it gets, and in shade it fades back to green. A single leaf can root into a new plant.
