Nerine
Meaning: looking forward to meeting again, happy memories
Nerine is named after the Nereids, the sea nymphs of Greek myth — fitting, given its legend. In the 17th century, the story goes, a ship was wrecked off Guernsey in the Channel Islands and bulbs washed ashore bloomed on the beach, earning it the name Guernsey lily. Its petals glitter in sunlight as if dusted with sugar, so in Japan it is nicknamed the diamond lily.
