Meaning: Fading love
In Japan this flower is called shumeigiku, the autumn bright chrysanthemum, yet it is no chrysanthemum at all but an anemone in the buttercup family, and its petals are really sepals. It came from China long ago and grew wild around Kibune in Kyoto, so it is also known as kibunegiku. It is a classic flower for autumn tea ceremony arrangements.
