Birth flower for July 10
Moss rose
Meaning: Innocence
Its leaves are thin and round like pine needles, while its flowers look like small roses or peonies, which explains its names in several languages. The fleshy leaves store water, so it shrugs off heat and drought; in Japan it is also called the drought plant. The flowers open only in sunshine and close again in the late afternoon or on cloudy days.
