Birth flower for June 22
Shasta daisy
Meaning: patience in all things, peace
The Shasta daisy was bred by the American plant breeder Luther Burbank, who crossed several wild daisies over many years before releasing it in 1901. He named it after snow-capped Mount Shasta in California for its pure white flowers. It is a tough perennial that blooms in broad drifts in early summer.
