Birth flower for May 2
Chamomile
Meaning: energy in adversity
Its name comes from the Greek for "earth apple," because brushing the plant releases a sweet, apple-like scent. People have been brewing it since ancient Greek and Roman times, and it is still one of the world's favorite bedtime teas. In Beatrix Potter's tale, Peter Rabbit's mother doses her naughty son with a cup of chamomile tea after his adventure in Mr. McGregor's garden.
