Anemone

Anemone

Meaning: Anticipation

The name anemone comes from the Greek word for wind, which is why it is also called the windflower. In Greek myth, the flower sprang up where the blood of the handsome Adonis, killed by a wild boar, mixed with the tears of Aphrodite. Anemones are quite expressive: they fold their petals shut at night and on gloomy days, then open again when the sun returns.
