Birth flower for February 14
Rose
Meaning: Love, passion
Few flowers carry as much meaning as the rose. Greek and Roman myths tied it to Aphrodite (Venus), goddess of love, and it has stood for romance ever since. England's fifteenth-century Wars of the Roses took their name from the red and white roses of the two rival houses. Today Bulgaria's Rose Valley still grows Damask roses to distill precious rose oil.
