Moth orchid
Meaning: happiness is flying your way
As the story goes, the Dutch botanist Carl Blume spotted a spray of these flowers through field glasses in the Indonesian forest and took them for a flock of white moths, so he named them Phalaenopsis, 'moth-like'. Today Taiwan, nicknamed the Orchid Kingdom, is one of the world's biggest breeders and exporters, and its native white moth orchid is an ancestor of many big white hybrids.
